Overdue is the newest release from Fredericton based singer-songwriter Keegan Dobbelsteyn. It is Keegan's first foray into the realm of DIY music making in the sense that the entire production and recording process was done by Keegan himself. It features three songs each with it's own distinct sound and style. These songs were really brought to their full potential by Erik Sample and Keegan Manson-Curry and their performances on the drums and bass guitar.
The first track "Fear" is a heavy desert rock inspired track. Lyrically it comments on how fear manipulates the modern mind into doing and saying some pretty outlandish things.
The next track is called "Entitlement". This title for this track was chosen because Keegan realized that the lyrics to this song came from a really entitled place. It was meant to be a regular love song, but the more the lyrics developed the more it seemed to be a satirical look at the idea of someone owing you their love.
The final track "Lately" is a pop-rock inspired tune. This is a track about picking yourself up the day after a long night out (or two) and the things that go through your head when you're almost too tired to stand up properly. It features lots of instrumentation and is a real highlight for the rhythm section of Sample and Mason-Curry as they are completely locked in together.

This EP is being released in loving memory of my dog Charlie. He listened to all these songs and worked by side for a year and a half. He was a good boy.
